Slot machines was invented in 1897 or 1898 by Charles Fey, a San Francisco car mechanic. Fey build many many coin operated gaming devices, including the original three reel bell slot machine in 1898. His slot machine had three reels and each reel had ten symbols printed on it. The machine was activated when a player inserted a coin into a slot and then pulled a handle to start the wheels spinning. Charles Fey’s slot machines were a big success over the world, and he couldn’t build them fast enough in his small shop. This machine would come to be known as a bell machine. The popularity of slot machines spread across the United States even though they were not legal in many States.
Traditional slot machines are coin-operated machines with three or more reels, which spin when a lever on the side of the machine is pulled. Now it`s a combination of tradition gambling and modern computer technic. Today, slot machines are the most popular gambling method in casinos.
